Tucker has been involved in all levels of
AYSO in more than 35 years of service.
From coach to Regional Commissioner,
to the National Board of Directors and
National Executive Director, her leadership
and vision have helped to shape what
AYSO is today. Recognizing the importance
of volunteer training, she prioritized the
formation of AYSO’s training strategy,
developing and conducting many of the
initial volunteer training sessions, including
the first national training weekend.
Her focus on AYSO’s development
and growth was unmatched. She was
personally responsible for bringing in
many new Regions and players, traveling
at great personal sacrifice all over the
United States. In her pursuit of making
sure that everyone knew of the values of
AYSO and that every family had the chance
to participate, she logged more miles for
AYSO than anyone and formalized the VIP
(Very Important Player) Program. As an
untiring AYSO evangelist, she helped others
aspire to her vision of AYSO soccer for
all kids supported by the most prepared
volunteers. With great passion and handson
style she set a direction for AYSO and
challenged everyone to serve at the highest
level. Cherie has truly left her mark on
AYSO, its players and its volunteers. |
