John Van de Vaarst joined
NISOA in 1980 as a member of the New Jersey Chapter
(NJISOA) and has served NISOA well as a game Official,
educator and administrator.
During this many years of loyal service, Van de Vaarst
officiated at all levels of the game and worked many
post-season assignments. At the local level, he served
as president of NJISOA from 1989 to 1990 and president
of the Central Maryland-ISOA from 2002 until 2006.
At the national level he has served as the NISOA
Convention Director for almost 20 years, regional representative
for Region IV and president of NISOA from 2004-2006.
He also is a National Clinician and has worked at
the
Elizabethtown Referee Training Camp for the past
18 years. He currently serves as the National Director
of Instruction.
In conjunction with other NISOA National Clinicians,
he helped produced a preseason guide for two years.
In 2000, Van de Vaarst was honored with NISOA Recognition
Award, the 2006 Ray Bernabei Honor Award and the
2007 Bob Sumpter Excellence in Teaching Award.
As the current NISOA Past President, he continues
to serve on the NISOA Executive Board. |
