The
Colin Jose Media Award is
named after Colin Jose, who served as the
official historian of the National Soccer
Hall of Fame from 1997 - 2007. His
painstaking research and writing over
a period of 40 years has resulted in
a body
of work acknowledged to be the definitive
history of soccer in North America. He
has written for every major English language
soccer publication and has authored numerous
books on the history of soccer. Colin
is recognized internationally as the
preeminent
authority in the field.
This
award is designed to honor
members of the media who specialize in communications
with respect to soccer in the U.S.
It is awarded to those whose contributions
in the field are deemed to be of exceptional
and sustained quality.

National Soccer Medal of Honor is
bestowed upon extraordinary individuals whose
positive contributions to soccer at the national
level have been so great as to have changed the
course of soccer history in the United States.
These award recipients have altered the American
sports landscape, creating a grander stage for
soccer, and the game is far better for their
contribution.
