A referee in the North American Soccer League
and from 1970 to 1977 served as Director of Officials with the
American Soccer League. Responsible for launching the soccer
program at the University of Dayton and was both a player and a
coach with the Dayton Edelweiss amateur team. A charter member
of the National Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association and
was editor of the first NISOA referee mechanics manual and was
inducted into the NISOA Hall of Fame in 1977.
The first recipient of the Eddie Pearson Award, given by U.S.
Soccer to recognize outstanding officials in 1979 and in 1997
was the first recipient of the Ohio Coaches Award for Referees.
