Jerry Yeagley

Class of 1989

Born: January 10, 1940 - Lebanon, PA

Yeagley began his coaching career with the Indiana University men's club team in 1963. Ten years later the team became a varsity sport, starting a 31-year stint in which the Hoosiers compiled a 544-101-45 record, made 28 NCAA Tournament appearances and won six national titles. His team won 10 Big Ten conference championships in the first 13 years the league sponsored the sport.

A six-time NSCAA National Coach of the Year, he was Big Ten Coach of the Year eight times, record totals for both awards. He received the NSCAA's Bill Jeffrey Award in 1987 and the Association's Honor Award in 1997. He concluded his tenure at Indiana in 2003 with an 18-match unbeaten streak on the way to his sixth NCAA title. His players earned NSCAA All-America honors 49 times; 65 played professional soccer and 20 have played for the U.S. National Team.
