Born: October 18, 1876 - Little Hulton, Lancashire, England

Played in England with the Bolton Wanderers organization before moving to Canada where he was player-manager of the Sherbrooke team in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. Crossing into the United States he played for Trimo, Riverdale and Walworth and later organized the Clan Robertson team in Dorchester, which won the New England title under his leadership. In 1923, along with son Sam, organized the Corinthians of Revere, Massachusetts, the first team to win New England junior honors. As president of the Massachusetts state organization he organized games against teams from Quebec and New Brunswick. A consulting engineer, his three sons all played soccer and Samuel was also inducted into the Hall of Fame.
