Ted
began his soccer career in 1932 at Aptos Junior High School
and won the city championship in that year.

In 1934 he joined
the San Francisco Rovers and played for them for the next
twenty years. The Rovers won the California State Championship
in 1936-37 and in the 1949-50 seasons. They also won the San
Francisco League title from 1934 to 1941. In 1954 the club
disbanded and Cordery went on the play for the Mercury Soccer
Club for one year as a center forward. In 1955 he was with the
Olympic Club and spent his last two seasons with the Viking
S.C. Soon after his retirement he was elected secretary of the
California Soccer Association, a position he held for 20
years. He also acted as the California delegate to the USSFA
conventions and served as National Junior Cup Commissioner and
National Cup Coordinator as well as being a member of the
Rules and Revisions Committee for two years. Away
from soccer he was a member of the San Francisco Fire
Department.
