After a brief spell with city recreation and sandlot teams in Philadelphia prior to World War I, he returned to soccer following the war as an organizer, coach, manager and sponsor of teams and leagues in the Eastern Pennsylvania and District Association. Beginning with the Allied American Football Association he assisted in the reorganization of the National Soccer League and became a delegate to the Eastern Pennsylvania and District Association. In 1929 he managed the Rorer Rovers, a third division National League team. He was president of the National Soccer League of Philadelphia from 1932 to 1939, president of the Eastern Pennsylvania and District Association from 1934 to 1941 and then again from 1943 to 1973. He served as a director of the American Soccer League from 1935 to 1942 during which time he sponsored and managed two professional teams, the Passon Phillies and the Philadelphia Nationals. A longtime leader of the Philadelphia Old Timers' Association, and a leader in the move to establish a National Soccer Hall of Fame. Served on the board of the Hall of Fame for 29 years and was chair of the finance committee for 15 years. Inducted into the Philadelphia Old Timers Hall of Fame in 1986.
