FIFA Futsal World Championship History

The FIFA Futsal World Championship has been contested four times with Brazil winning the first three tournaments. The fourth FIFA Futsal World Championship was held in Guatemala in 2000, with Spain ending Brazil's reign as world champions. The Futsal World Championship is the only indoor tournament hosted by FIFA. The 1992 second-place finish finish was the best-ever showing in a FIFA event by a United States men's team, and came on the heels of a third-place finish in 1989.
