Wingert, Reddick Win the 2003 M.A.C'S Hermann Award

1.9.2004

Chris Wingert of St. John's University, and Catherine Reddick of the University of North Carolina have been awarded the 2003 Missouri Athletic Club's Hermann Award. The M.A.C's Hermann Award is awarded to the top male and female Division I college soccer players. The award is based on voting from a panel of NSCAA Division I members.

Chris Wingert led St. John's University to the NCAA Division I Championship match. Wingert (5 goals, 5 assists) also was named the Big East Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.  He was also named as a NSCAA All-American, as well as the NSCAA Scholar Athlete of the Year. Wingert is also a member of the United States' Under-23 National Team.

Catherine Reddick led the University of North Carolina to an undefeated (27-0) season and to the Division I National title. Reddick only played in 13 matches for the Tarheels because she was starter on the United States' Women's World Cup team. She produced six goal and five assists in those 13 matches.  Reddick and the North Carolina defense did not surrender a goal in the 2003 postseason and was named the Tournament Defensive MVP.
