The National Soccer Hall of Fame and SoccerAmerica, the pre-eminent soccer magazine in the United States, have announced a wide-ranging strategic partnership.

“Our overarching goal is to promote soccer and fan growth in the United States,” said SoccerAmerica Publisher/CEO Lynn Berling-Manuel and Hall of Fame President/CEO Will Lunn in a joint statement. “We believe our unique position in soccer give us a special ability and responsibility to benefit the game at all levels, National Team, professional, amateur, collegiate, scholastic and club.”

SoccerAmerica has told the story of soccer at every level in the U.S. for more than 33 years. Its editorial framework of expert reporting, thought-provoking columns, insightful articles and useful features has kept America’s soccer fans informed and connected. In 2003 the Chicago Tribune selected SoccerAmerica as one of the best 50 magazines in America. SoccerAmerica and Sports Illustrated were the only two sports titles on the prestigious list.

The Hall of Fame, with its 55-year history of honoring the heroes, has broadened its original mission to include celebrating the history, inspiring the youth and preserving the legacy of the game for generations to come. It constructed a new National Soccer Museum in 1999 to meet that broader mission and has welcomed more than 250,000 visits to its campus since opening day.

“We’re excited to launch this partnership with a fundraising program on the Hall of Fame’s new, redesigned website,” said Berling-Manuel. “ Fans can subscribe to SoccerAmerica through www.soccerhall.org at a 25% discount, plus $20.00 will be donated to the Hall for every new subscription sold.”

SoccerAmerica has been an important supporter of the game and the Hall of Fame,” Lunn said. “The way we advance our missions and help build the sport in the U.S.A. is different and complimentary. This new relationship will not only benefit the Hall of Fame and SoccerAmerica, but will also benefit the sport of soccer.”

Other plans for the partnership include substantive and prominent web site linkage, combined efforts in public and media relations, other joint promotions and historical features in SoccerAmerica “from the Archives of the National Soccer Hall of Fame.”
